Jerad performed at a SpeakTogether student matinee at Edward R. Murrow High School in Midwood, Brooklyn on October 25, 2022, speaking on the theme, “A Matter of Time.”
Jerad Alexander holds an MFA from New York University, and his writing has appeared in Esquire, Rolling Stone, the Nation, Narratively, and other publications. His memoir, Volunteers: Growing Up in the Forever War, was published in 2022. From 1998 to 2006, he served as a U.S. Marine infantryman and combat correspondent with deployments to the Mediterranean, East Africa, and Iraq. He currently lives in New York City.
