Samira Sadeque
Samira led a Student Storytelling Workshop for SpeakTogether at the Williamsburg High School of Art & Technology during the month of March 2022 titled “Being and Becoming.”
Samira Sadeque is a New York-based Bangladeshi journalist, poet, and educator. She covers immigrant communities, mental health, hate speech, and gender violence, among other issues in both her poetry and journalism. Her poetry appears or is forthcoming in the HBO series Take Out with Lisa Ling, All Arts TV, No Dear Magazine, Button Poetry (video), and Black Horse Review, among others. She is a Brooklyn Poets fellow and a Cave Canem and Tin House alumnus. Her journalism appears in The New York Times, The Guardian, The Washington Post, and Al Jazeera, among other publications.
